The Mall House (town hall) was originally built in 1774 around the time the present Clock Gate was also completed. It's stone facade has been covered over during it's recent renovation costing 2 million euro, while a two storey glass atrium to the rear has been added with spectacular waterfront views over Youghal Bay.
The building, which houses the offices of Youghal Town Council (Comhairle Bhaile Eochaille) will also now be utilised as an Arts Centre for stage plays, musicals, galas etc. which will give a great boost to the cultural life of the town.
At the top of the building above the external entrance porch can be seen the crest of Youghal.
